The California Black Power Network (CBPN) is a growing coalition of Black-led and Black-empowering organizations across California, uniting more than 832,000 people in the fight for justice, equity, and transformative policy change.
Our Reach
Through civic engagement programs, listening sessions, advocacy campaigns, and grassroots organizing, we’ve built one of the largest networks mobilizing Black Californians statewide. From housing to reparations to real safety, our people-powered movement is changing the future.

our wins
- Housing Justice: Passed key bills like SB 567, the Homelessness Prevention Act, to protect renters from eviction and expand housing rights.
- Public Safety: Defended our communities against tough-on-crime rollbacks by successfully defeating bills that would have increased incarceration and policing, while advancing real safety policies focused on education, economic opportunity, and human rights.
- Reparations: Helped shape California’s reparations roadmap, supporting historic bills like ACA 8 to end slavery in California’s Constitution and mobilizing over 38,000 reparations supporters through the Alliance for Reparations, Reconciliation and Truth (ARRT).

- Contacted over 160,000 Black voters through year-round civic engagement programs, identifying thousands of new supporters for housing, reparations, and real safety policies.
- Trained and mobilized 47 grassroots leaders and activated over 400 Black Californians through local meetings, building a strong base for long-term community action.
- Drove higher voter turnout among Black Californians across statewide elections, helping to defeat harmful measures and advance our collective priorities.
